Stromberg quotes as JSON
The Stromberg API combines a website for browsing quotes with structured access to the data. Developers can retrieve the content as JSON through the public API.
The application was built with Laravel. Its documentation describes three sections: quotes, episodes and characters. Alongside lists, it provides individual records, search and random results.
Retrieve a random quote
For example, request a random quote like this:
const response = await fetch(
'https://stromberg-api.de/api/quotes/random'
);
const quote = await response.json();
console.log(quote.quote);
The response contains the quote and additional fields such as its ID. Episode and character associations may be present; an application should also handle missing associations.
By topic or at random
- Quotes: Lists, individual IDs, text search and season filters.
- Episodes: Individual episodes, title search and random selection.
- Characters: Lists, individual characters, name search and random selection.
The public documentation describes the API as free and without required authentication. The website also offers direct access to quotes and their context.
Website and documentation
The website provides an interface for exploring the collection. The API documentation lists endpoints and a usage example.
